Welcome to Middle School
Curriculum Overview
At Elpis, we structure Middle School carefully.
In Grade 6, a core group of teachers works closely across subjects — building a rich picture of each student's learning strengths, habits, and gaps.
By Grades 7 and 8, students move more widely across the school, developing the independence, resilience, and confidence they will need in High School and beyond.
The following tiers make up the Middle School program: Every student at Elpis studies all of the following
Core Subjects — English & Literature, Mathematics, Science, History & Heritage, and Worldview & Ethics. These are studied every year across all three grades.
Myanmar Studies (MOE Required) — Myanmar language, geography, and history (မြန်မာစာ၊ မြန်မာ့ပထဝီ၊ မြန်မာသမိုင်း) are studied every year by all students as a required part of the Elpis program, in accordance with Ministry of Education registration.
Additional Subjects — Art, Music, Physical Education, and Basic Computer. Students encounter these throughout the week alongside the core program.
Language Electives — Chinese and additional language options are available based on enrollment
By the time a student completes Grade 8 at Elpis, they leave equipped with strong academic foundations, clear habits of study, and the personal conviction to step into Grade 9 ready.
