A Warm Welcome

From The Academic Dean

At Elpis International School, we are committed to helping students grow in both academic excellence and personal character. Our teachers work carefully to strengthen each student’s learning, encourage responsibility, and create a safe environment where children can grow with confidence.

We believe education is most effective when school and home work together. For this reason, we value close communication with parents and seek to support each child’s academic progress, social growth, and character development throughout the school year.

We look forward to walking with every family as students learn, mature, and prepare for the future.

Curriculum

Bob Jones University Press

Bob Jones University Press

From Kindergarten through Grade 12, Elpis delivers an American curriculum aligned with United States K–12 academic standards, published by BJU Press — one of the most established providers of structured, sequential learning programmes used in private schools around the world.

The curriculum places strong emphasis on the traditional liberal arts: English language and literature, mathematics, the sciences, history, and the humanities. Each subject is taught in a deliberate, mastery-based sequence that builds knowledge year on year, ensuring our students graduate with both academic depth and intellectual range.

Beyond academic content, the BJU Press curriculum is recognised for its emphasis on character formation, disciplined study habits, and the cultivation of independent thought — qualities that prepare our graduates for accredited colleges in the United States and for life beyond the classroom.

Our Philosophy

At Elpis, learning is the formation of character, not just the acquisition of knowledge. We teach students to think clearly, speak honestly, and lead with humility, preparing them not only for university, but for lives of integrity and purpose.

Kindergarten

A joyful beginning

Our Kindergarten introduces young learners to a structured, joyful environment where reading, numeracy, and social development begin in earnest. Children build confidence, curiosity, and the foundational habits of attention that carry them through every grade that follows.

Grades 1–5

Laying a solid foundation

In the primary years, students develop fluency in reading, writing, and mathematics while exploring the sciences, history, and the arts. Teachers guide each child toward independence in study, clarity in thought, and respect for those around them.

Lasting Impact

The middle years are a turning point. At Elpis, students are encouraged to think more deeply, take greater responsibility, and grow into the young men and women they are becoming.

Grades 6–8

Building academic ability and personal responsibility

The middle school years stretch students academically and personally. Through deeper engagement with literature, mathematics, the sciences, and the humanities, learners begin to think for themselves, take responsibility for their work, and contribute meaningfully to their school community.

Leading with Humility

Every student at Elpis has the opportunity to lead. From the classroom to the wider school community, our students participate, contribute, and take responsibility for one another. Leadership at Elpis is shaped by the quiet virtues — humility, integrity, and service. We prepare our young people to lead not by position, but by example.
